Attendance

Students are allowed a total of five parent written absentee notes per semester. Additional absences, check-ins and check-outs will only be excused with documentation from a doctor, court, etc.

 

Acceptable excuses for tardies to school or early checkouts are the same as excused reasons for full-day absences. For example, car trouble is NOT excusable since HCBOE provides transportation to school, missing the bus, waking up late, oversleeping, vacations, babysitting siblings, taking your pet to the vet, flat tire, and running errands are all UNEXCUSED.

 

To add authorized adults to your student's approved pick-up list, visit the Henry County Schools Registration page and follow the steps under "Current Student – Information Update/Verification Process. Infinite Campus may take up to 72 hours to update. Please contact Ms. Wilhelm for assistance.

 

WHS will use Student Conductor this year, which is a tardy class tracking system.  Students are expected to be in class on time as listed on the bell schedule. Students who are late for class will need to visit a Student Conductor station for a pass when late in between classes.  There are four stations throughout the building.  Administrators issue discipline consequences for tardies according to information from Student Conductor.

 

1st - 5th tardy - WARNING

6th tardy - Friday detention

7th tardy - ISS

8th tardy - Report to Front Office
